MOVIE REVIEW
'Jackass Forever' Is The Best - Yet Most Extreme - Entry In The Franchise
By Sal LoCicero | February 22, 2022
From the early 2000s to the 2010s, Johnny Knoxville and his team have made an impact towards many older teens and young adults. The ‘Jackass’ crew has provided the audience with outrageous stunts that would most likely be impossible to recover from. But, no matter how many times they have gotten injured, it has always brought them back together. In 2022, you probably wouldn’t expect - nor want - another ‘Jackass’ movie. However, Knoxville and the gang are back once again to show you that they are not finished yet, despite old age.
If there is one movie that everyone can agree on that is f**king hilarious and brutal to watch, it is most certainly ‘Jackass Forever’! With social media becoming more significant in our world than ever, it appears that the Millennial age of entertainment has found its way at the top of the box office. It has brought a lot of fans back to the theaters, so they can enjoy popcorn and watch the team torture each other to death - in the most hilarious ways.
If you were never a fan of the subject matter that was in ‘Jackass’, there is nothing in this fourth installment that will alter your view. In fact, ‘Jackass Forever’ may be the most vile ‘Jackass’ movie in the franchise. Each of the stunts get crazier and crazier as they go on throughout. It’s truly unbelievable how nobody on set died this time around, although there is one sequence in which a character almost dies from a Bull attack.
While most of it is gross and unpleasant to see, there has always been something about the effort put into establishing these creative - if you will - ideas, that you can’t help but laugh your ass off at what happens on screen. There hasn’t been a movie in a long, long time that has made me laugh so hard to the point of wheezing. Some new additions, as well as, celebrity cameos like; Sean “Poopies” Mclnerney, Zach Holmes, Rachel Wolfson, Jasper Dolphin, Eric André were also hilarious. Tyler, The Creator found his way to steal the scene, just by playing the piano while sitting on a chair that electrocutes him.
It’s safe to say that this is the conclusion to all of the life threatening stunts and injuries that have lasted for over twenty years. Knoxville is now 50 years old, and he cannot continue with this any longer. All the other original ‘Jackass’ stars should choose to retire, unless someone will actually experience their own tragic fate in production.
It’s so rare that the latest entry in a series is the best one, but for ‘Jackass Forever’ that is the case. It has been over ten years since ‘Jackass 3D’ hit theaters, and ever since then, fans have been teased with rumors about another movie. Luckily, the cast managed to hold on to their promise and they most certainly delivered on it.
